Essex Police Tweeted on Friday – officially announcing their intentions to award service medals for retiring police dogs
Inspector Brad Dickel officer in charge of the Essex Police Dog Section tweeted……
“Really productive meeting with ACC Mason to discuss awarding medals to retired Police dogs who my team owe their lives to on a daily basis”
This idea has been a while in the planning and we first reported on this a couple of weeks ago. Taking a lead on the project is Linda Belgrove chairperson of the retired police dog fund and a long-time supporter and contributor to the Essex Police dog section.
A commendable concept from Essex Police in showing appreciation for the contribution that their police dogs make to the force.
The Essex Police Federation have donated the funds to cover the costs and engraving for the medals.
Well done Essex Police & the Police Federation.
